In Ghana, where we all live in extreme poverty, some cunning individuals have found the strength and guts to con others out of their labor-intensive money.

Due to Ghana’s current economic problems, a large number of young people are being forced to leave the country in search of better opportunities abroad. In this area, a large number of fraudsters operate under the guise of travel agents.

Elvis Kwabena Darlington, who was recently duped by these con artists, is currently pleading with the media for assistance in identifying and apprehending Gorge Darko. Elvis Kwabena claims that in July 2023, he met George Darko someplace, wherein he asserted that he could assist him in traveling to Canada because he has contacts there. According to George, Elvis paid GHC10,000 of GHC100,000 as a down payment to begin the process of getting his travel authorization.

Gorge Darko, whose purported travel and tour company is called JNJ Travel and Tour, never returned his calls after taking that money.
Additionally, he left his office when he was pursued by more victims. Elvis claims to have already reported the case to the police stations at Teshie Divisional Police Station and Ashongman Estate Police Station. He then learned that Kasoa Police Station is looking for the same George Man in connection with the same fraud case.

He comes from Jarsikan in the Oti Region and attended Winners Bible School, which is now Winners Bible College, and Bue Secondary School. Little information about him has been discovered with the assistance of social media and other victims. Elvis Kwabena’s complaint to the Winners Bible College authorities was the sixth one they received, and at that point, they were also looking for him.

Some of the victims, including Abigail Serwaa, related how she was tricked into giving up her GHC2000 by an innocent-looking man. Another elderly woman who had sold her family farm to enable her daughter to travel also fell victim to Gorge Darko, which devastated her daughter’s hopes of traveling.

Here are a few screen grabs from a discussion that was supplied to us with information concerning George Darko:
