VGMA 2020

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2020 (VGMA 21) took place on August 28 and 29th despite several setbacks caused by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

After the unusual break-in-calendar of the 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse announced a comeback as organizers and partners settled on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival Weekend.

Kofi Kinaata bagged home three awards, MOG Music won the Male Vocalist, Sarkodie won the Best Collaboration whereas DopeNation won Group of the Year. Kuami Eugene was crowned the Artiste of the Year which is the most prestigious plaque on the night of the awards.

The 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was supported by TV3, KPMG, DStv, and powered by Charterhouse.

  17. Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year – Poverty by J.Derobie
  18. Afrobeat Song of the Year – Zanku by DopeNation
  19. Hip hop Song of the Year – Don’t Be Late by Kofi Mole
  20. Gospel Artist of the Year – Diana Hamilton
  21. Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year – Ras Kuuku
  22. Highlife Artist of the Year – Kuami Eugene
  23. Hiplife/Hiphop Artist of the Year – Medikal
  24. Rapper of the Year – Kwesi Arthur
  25. Best Collaboration of the Year – Oofeetso by Sarkodie ft Prince Bright (Buk Bak)
